Visio for mac

Since the January, 15 the Mac Office 2008 is on sale and there is still no Visio included. So there is no Visio for Mac at this time.

If you want to share your Visio documents on Mac OS X computers or work on Mac with somebody’s Visio documents, which were created on PC, you have to find some other way.

Of course, you can always find some alternative software which works on Mac OS X and can offer you the same functions as Visio. MS Visio VSD is closed-format, so If you need to work with existing Visio documents on Mac OS X you have to convert them to other format.

You must convert your Visio documents in Visio XML format in order to work with them in ConceptDraw 7 or another software which is support the Visio XML files. To convert a VSD-file to Visio XML you can use the Save as… dialog in Visio or use the online VSD converter.

Having your Visio documents converted to Visio XML files you can import them to the ConceptDraw and work as with regular ConceptDraw documents both on PC and Mac. ConceptDraw offers the same functions as Visio and even more. It has lots of simple library objects, “smart” library objects and cliparts.

Then you can export these documents from ConceptDraw 7 CDD format back to Visio XML and continue your work in Visio on PC.
